MIN: 0.5 ML SERUM (PREFERRED) OR PLASMA (ACCEPTABLE)

PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

INPATIENT: BRING DIRECTLY TO LABORATORY, WITHOUT DELAY.

 

CENTRAL PROCESSING:
SERUM: ALLOW BLOOD TO CLOT UPRIGHT FOR 30 MINUTES AT ROOM TEMPERATURE, CENTRIFUGE, THEN BRING DIRECTLY TO OLYMPUS DEPARTMENT.
PLASMA: CENTRIFUGE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER COLLECTION AND BRING DIRECTLY TO OLYMPUS DEPARTMENT.

 

OUTPATIENT:
SERUM: ALLOW BLOOD TO CLOT UPRIGHT FOR 30 MINUTES AT ROOM TEMPERATURE, CENTRIFUGE, THEN REFRIGERATE.
PLASMA: CENTRIFUGE AND SEPARATE PLASMA FROM BLOOD (INTO A PLASTIC 12 x75 TUBE) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER COLLECTION, THEN REFRIGERATE.
